This is a little bit of information to help you imagine the tanthris the way I do.

The tanthris are a tall and slender race of adventurers. Their adult heights range from an average of six to seven feet for both males and females alike. This is not a strict range. It is just the average. Tanthris females tend to have elongated boyish builds with gentle curves. The males maintain extremely slender builds as well and do not bulk up like humans do. The musculature of the tanthris is such that their muscles don’t get larger in size with an increase in strength but, rather, become more defined and solid with exercise. A warrior tanthris would present a rather small target and feel like stone when grasped. It would also be important to note that elongation seems to touch every aspect of their frame from long, slender limbs and fingers to even their faces and eyes.

The tanthris also have a strong system of anti-bodies and natural healing. This doesn’t mean they don’t ever get sick or hurt. It just means that these unfortunate occurrences are rarer and recovered from quickly.

The average life span of a tanthris is perhaps 66 orbits or 80 earth years. This is perhaps an extra five to ten orbits longer than the average human. They usually die suddenly in their sleep with little or no warning or simply fall over from a passive position as their body seems to shut down all at once.

The skin appearance of the tanthris ranges from a light tan appearance to a very dark brown. Tanthris tan very easily and it is evident when they have spent extended time outdoors. They also have a faintly noticeable mid-line down the center of their head and torso which houses their sixth sense.

Their hair color ranges from deep blue, to black, to bright red, and even to vibrant purple. In their old age it tends to turn a faded shade of its original. Tanthris generally wear their hair in whatever the local human fashion is as their ears are very similar to humans except that they have downward point.

Their eyes are just a touch cat-like and range in color from various blues, purples and shades of brown. Even the occasional light pink will turn up.

All tanthris have very keen senses. Their eyes see nearly two to three times clearer and longer than a human and their ears are equally improved. Their sense of smell is not quite to the level of dogs but is still very acute. Their sense of taste is absolutely amazing. They are able to distinguish the smallest flavors and hints easily and thus have very exquisite tastes. Their food tends to be spiced so subtly that humans consider it blah.

Tanthris also have a sixth sense called "feeling" similar to shark’s sense of magnetism / gravity. They can literally feel what’s coming and can navigate a pitch black room with complete ease. You simply can’t sneak up them if they are paying the slightest attention to what’s immediately around them. Also, their self-awareness and sense of balance is phenomenal after the completion of puberty (around 13-16 orbits or 16-21 earth years) allowing for incredible integration of hereb-based bionics.

All this does have a draw back, naturally. Although seemingly fully aware of the physical world around them, they are at a complete loss when it comes to sensing the spiritual realm. A tanthris can walk through a room full of shadowed and fear nothing. Conversely, it is hard for the messengers to impress ideas upon them as well.

With such amazing senses it is only natural that the tanthris have an inborn wanderlust. This desire to see the world and all it’s wonders sets in early and doesn’t wane until old age, if ever.

Most tanthris marry in their late 20’s (Choaradarian orbits) and settle just long enough to raise their oldest child to a point they are self-sufficient and leave them in charge of the younger siblings while they (the parents) return to wandering. This often seems cruel in the eyes of humans but is very natural and healthy for tanthris as too long in one place and doing the same routine seems to negatively affect the minds of adult tanthris. The place where a tanthris is raised, their base, becomes a place of security where they often return.

One might guess that their families are fairly nuclear being just mother, father, and children. Tanthris often know the names of their relatives but little else unless they encounter them later in their wandering or if the relative has their base nearby while they are growing up. If the latter is the case, then they will have likely met the relative one to three times in their life before they start their own wandering.
